Our day

Anju had a great weekend. Her grandpa was able to charm her and got some good smiles and playtime out of her. Anju also had her church showers on Sunday and did really well--not being so clingy or scared and making a real good impression. She loved all the kids at St. Paul making her the center of attention. One child did ask if we had "bought our new baby" so it was a good opportunity to talk about adoption.

Today was a tough one. Anju got up at 6:30 and did not want to nap at nap time. I tried all the normal culprits--diaper, hunger, clothes problem, milk, temperature, etc. and just never figured out what the problem was. I followed her pointed finger to see what she wanted and was led to fridge magnets, the inside of the freezer, leftover shower cake (which she did not want to eat) and a magic marker sitting on the microwave. She even wanted to hold a roll of wax paper. So, I figured it wasn't a need--she just didn't want to nap. Or was overtired since she got up so early (she's been getting up around 7:30/8 if the school bus routine of the morning around 6:15 doesn't wake her.) She ended up sleeping only a half hour instead of her usual 2-3 hours.

But when she saw the bus pull up in front of our house through the front window, she clapped her hands and giggled. She was so excited to see her sister!! At the door she giggled again as her sister came in. Then when her brother entered she held out her hand and pushed the air away and said, "nah, nah, nah." So, brother still has some baby charming to do!

Glad you could make a good impression. Got a laugh out of that one! She sounds like a riot :)
