More about the study----

I thought I'd point out that the little girl in the header on this site is chewing on a cotton rope like Anju does to give saliva samples. They dip it in a little bit of Kool-Aid crystals, and have them suck/chew on the rope. Then the rope end is cut off and put into a syringe and the saliva is squeezed into a vial. They call it "The tasting game" and ask if the child wants to play. Crazily, to a toddler it looks like great fun. I was given a kit to do some more at home.

Page 3 of this newsletter tells about another study recently done by the same researcher about cortisol and it's relationship to stress and adoption.
